Am thinkin of registering to E-Bay to sell some stuff,but they want my credit card details.Is it safe?Also,do I have to pay something? Thanx

Huh? You shouldn't have to put credit card details in, unless you are opening a PayPal account.

If that's what you are doing, make sure the padlock is showing in the corner of your browser, and the URL starts https://www.paypal.com

Many people don't buy things with credit cards. I don't remember having to put card details in when I signed up. I'm thinking you may have to pay to list some stuff for auction though, depending on the starting price. Perhaps thats the case.

Just make sure your details are being sent over a secure connection (that is, url starting https, or the padlock showing). You could always email them to check everything is in order.

You need to give them a credit card number if the email address you give them is a free one (Hotmail etc), because you need to be traceable in case of fraud. They've had mine for three years and I've never had any problems with them. They only charge fees when you actually sell things.

Actually they do charge listing fees now whether your item sells or not.Then if it does sell they take a percentage depending on the final price.I've also had my credit card info with them for years and never had an issue.

GIAC - yeah, I meant they only charge when you ATTEMPT to sell things, ie when you put up a listing, not necessarily when somebody buys it.

Also, their charge is based upon how much it sells for (aka, not a percentage). They have a scale on their site that outlines all the details. Pretty affordable, imo.
